That is me in 2013. I'm smiling on the outside, and dying on the inside. That rock is the summit of San Jacinto Peak and I had just completed C2C (more info HERE). It's a been a journey since then, and since then I've always pondered a route similar at my local favorite Mt. Baldy area. B2B means I ponder no more!
Don't be deceived. The arrow points behind that ridge. Somewhere back there is a 10k ft monster. This shot is from about 2k and about 2 miles and 800 ft of gain into your adventure. Do the math. It is going to be a fun day!
The event itself is minimal in nature. No markings, no aid, just you and a route. Doesn't that sound like fun?
The goal was simple: keep on trail as much as possible, avoid unnecessary descents, yet be as direct as possible. Here's what I came up with.
